Africa: Fibre Optic Cables Will Drive the Fixed-line Telecoms in sub-Saharan Africa- Frost & Sullivan

Fixed line telephony is headed for a major comeback following establishment of fibre optic cables across the region.

In a new analysis from Frost & Sullivan, a research company, earnings from fixed-line telecommunications market in sub-Saharan Africa is estimated to reach reach $12.25 billion in 2015 up from $6.78 billion in 2008.

And the International consulting firm Global Insight has compiled the latest world statistics on trade in ICT.

Kenya:Government finally bowing to pressure from Safaricom over new laws

Recently Communication Commission of Kenya published new laws to curtail uncompettive tendencies in the Telecom market. Safaricom cried bitterly as Telkom, YU nad Zain celebrated. CCK stood its groud. Safaricom kept shouting and whining and even weny to court. Well finally the government is doing something.
